Freebies That Make Your Customers Love You Even More

You don't need to give out expensive items to your customers to keep them coming back. First of all, it is your products or services meeting their needs that turn these individuals into return customers. What you are doing by offering small free gifts is making them remember you and think fondly of the service given. This simply makes it more likely that they will offer return business.

There are numerous items you can choose from as freebies. Some products you can make yourself. Others, you may decide to purchase. It is better to obtain items customized with your business name if at all possible. This customization gives them a reminder of your organization each time they see it.

So what can you offer your customers and how often? It's nice to be able to include a little something with each order, and with the number of ideas available, that may not be too difficult. That said, the item or items you choose could depend on your business and your target market.

Postcards
A postcard can be anything from a little thank you note to something with local imagery. It may be something with an inspirational quote, or otherwise. Having this type of object placed with an order is inexpensive but its simplicity is appreciated.

Magnets
Magnets may be more expensive than some options but they are incredibly useful. Most people keep them for longer, making them a better investment.

Bookmarks
Even though reading books isn't as common as it used to be, people still enjoy receiving bookmarks, especially if they have a tassel or otherwise have a professional touch.

Pens/Pencils
These objects range widely in terms of price, style, quality, and other aspects. Pens and pencils are everyday items, so even purchasing less expensive ones as free gifts can still go over well. That said, any item given with an order should be of reasonable quality and should work properly. Giving merchandise that doesn't function well may have the opposite of the intended result.

Free Samples
If it is possible for you to create free samples of products you make or to obtain samples of products made by other manufacturers, it can be a good idea to offer them with clients' purchases. For example, if you are a soap company, you may offer a small sample of soap with a purchase. This action could inspire an additional purchase by that customer. In the case that you sell the products made by someone else, perhaps you can include samples of these items, whether creams, cookies, or other products you distribute.

Discount Codes
This is perhaps one of the most common methods of obtaining return customers within a shorter period of time. While you are not offering anything free, you are giving the client extra motivation to place another order, therefore having the same result as a free gift. The biggest difference may be your own cost, but the end result could be well worth it. After all, you only have a cost if the discount code is actually used.

Choosing the Free Gift

It is essential that you select the appropriate free gift for your business and its budget. It may be cheaper and more practical for you to create your own items at the beginning or perhaps ask a friend to help. This is especially true for small businesses. However, when you expand or if you are already a larger company, you may be able to purchase larger numbers of customized items to obtain the bulk discount if that is your goal.

Customers really enjoy receiving these little gifts with their purchases. It makes them feel more positive about a transaction and helps them remember your products or services in the future. These small items could be what assists them in the decision to give you return business and refer you to others.
