Some people say there is a fine line between hiring help and cheating on essay papers. Well, that may be true. That line may exist but hiring help is on the good side of that line. Every student can use help now and then, some possibly more than others. This is okay. It is better to admit the need for assistance than to go without it. The difference between hiring help and cheating often lies with the type of assistance being asked for. Paying someone to research, write, and edit the entire paper, is indeed cheating. This process deceives the instructor and makes it seem like the student has more knowledge and skill than they truly have.
